Born To Be Wide's youth initiative Off The Record is pleased to be hosting a series of panels at Exchange - a music industry event taking place at The Arches, Glasgow on the 12th & 13th June.

The event will consist of seminars featuring some of the country's top industry professionals, performances from emerging artists, guest workshops and opportunities to network with industry professionals and other people who aspire to work in music.

Are you interested in working in music but not sure how to get started? What are the essential skills you need? What are the different pathways into the music industry? Find out how the best young professionals in the business got to where they are today, and how you can follow in their footsteps.

Getting Connected  I  Friday 12th June  I  13:30-14:15
Having a strong network of contacts is one of the most important aspects of developing a career in the music industry. Hear from the best in the business about how to get yourself out there, make connections, and where and how you begin to build your networks.

A Day in the Life  I  Friday 12th June  I  14:30-15:15
Ever wondered what people in the music industry actually do? Hear about the typical day of a record label A&R, concert promoter and artist manager, the skills they use to carry out their work and ask any burning questions you have about working in the business.

Parents' Panel  I  Saturday 13th June  I  11:00-11:45
This unique session will help parents of young people who express an interest in establishing a career in the music industry. Hear from other parents as they share their experiences of having children working in the industry, what support they have provided and what pathways and routes their child has followed.
